Woohoo Manchester FRED THIRTY! Wow, can't believe this is the 30th one, thanks so much to everyone that's followed us along for the journey! I hope you're all enjoying it as much as I am.
So, this is a bit of a special one
and I'm super glad that we have 2 great freelancers talking about their experiences as Freelance Developers. Paul Jardine and Rachel Shillcock. Unfortunately Rachel can't make it, but fear not, in her place 3 kind folks have offered to step up;
Paul Jardine @pjwebdesign
Paul actually attended McrFRED 09 and then soon after decided to go freelance, so I do hope it's working out ok for him!
I'm a friendly front-end developer and web designer based in Stockport just outside of Manchester.
I have over 6 years industry experience working with digital agencies in Manchester in both creative and development roles.
Since June 2014 I have operated on a freelance basis, offering my web design and development services to private clients, digital agencies and charities in my local communities of Stockport and Manchester (and beyond!).
New Adventures in Freelance Front-End Development!
I'll be discussing my experiences of going from working in a digital agency to becoming self employed, and the process I went through.
I'll also talk about the many different responsibilities of working for yourself, looking after money, finding work and managing projects on your own.
If anyone is thinking about taking the plunge into freelance life and has any questions feel free to ask and I'll try to answer it!
As an added bonus, this McrFRED also coincides with #NationalCodingWeek check out what else is on :) https://spaceportx.com/blog/54/nationalcodingweek
