Gareth is a 35 year old former Army Officer turned developer, with 15 years experience in a range of fields, he currently works as a Cloud Solutions Architect & DevOps Consultant specialising in the AWS Cloud.

Having worked for 10 years in agency roles from developer through to Technical Director, Gareth started contracting 6 years ago and during this time has worked for Sony, BBC, JD Sports, BANK Fashion, The Hut Group and Tyres on the Drive. Amongst others.

In recent years, Gareth has found that his breadth of knowledge across technology stacks and tooling have been a greater asset to the companies he joins than his skills as a developer, and so has spent time studying for and gaining AWS Certifications and working to help organisations move their tech into the cloud.

My main role is that of acting as a technical consultant, helping teams of engineers to move their infrastructure and applications into the cloud. I help with network design, build and security, integration of Infrastructure as a Service components from AWS through to all scales of technical training on choosing the right tool for the job and how to implement it

Serverless Architecture for Front End Applications

Modern Front End applications, driven in general by Node.js are by their very nature, light, portable and extremely fast. I’m going to demonstrate how you can get your Node applications running in the AWS cloud with a low cost, highly available set up.
