McrFRED Round 2
Our kind friends over at Tech Hub Manchester were impressed with the first #McrFRED and have kindly invited us back.
Got a date booked in for Tuesday 30th April 6.30pm till 9pm.
Simon is this incredibly rare combination of insightful and curious developer, broad and extensive knowledge of front-end development techniques, and a real motivation to me in his ability to inject energy into a community. Simon would be a huge asset to any team and I'm a bit jealous of the one lucky enough to scoop him up.

If you're using Octopress, chances are you're familiar with the emoticons used in GitHub.
It's possible to make use of these in an Octopress blog as well.
Thanks again to everyone that came to the first #McrFRED, was great to see such a good turn out and people placing their trust in a new venture into Front-End Development.
Thanks very much to those that have shown interest in the first #McrFRED.
Managed to sell all 30 tickets and there was room for a few more for those of you that also wanted to attend.
Great to see such a quick and positive response! Looking forward to meeting you all.
First Octopress Post!
So yeah, I finally got around to moving my WordPress blog to Octopress.
Remember a while back listening to yayQuery and Rebecca Murphey mentioned it, so had a look and looked cool. Big fan of markdown code. Also having dealt with a lot of WordPress blogs a low maintenance, quick and easy way to deploy, no database route using GitHub sounded win win win.
So yeah here it is
Loving it so far.
Big fan of /www.chromeexperiments.com/globe (no longer online).
One of my friends has just got a Raspberry Pi and we're looking to create a game on it.
Looking forward to our first 'Game Jam' event next week, not sure if we'll manage to get anything up and running, but sure it'll be fun and looking forward to seeing what the other people get up to.
